To follow God’s calling is not easy. And he said to them all, “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily, and follow me.” – Luke 9:24. Being in the ministry and as a family man takes a lot of faith and courage to keep going on. Pastor Mark Jayson Martinez surrendered his life and followed God’s calling to full-time ministry in 2009. It was the same year that he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Theology at Fundamental Baptist College for Asians.

Pastor MJ and his wife started from scratch but God did not leave nor forsake them while in the mission field. They started a mission in Dau, Mabalacat, Pampanga in 2009 and did not have a permanent church building so they had to move again and again. In 2010, they moved to a rented mission house in Sitio Kadenang Kristal, Sapang Biabas, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

God worked through spreading the gospel quickly to the nearby community, leading the family to move again and use their own house as a church building in Phase 1 Sapang Biabas, Mabalacat City, Pampanga.

The move did not stop there. The place of worship was moved again to a different location before God gave Pastor MJ the opportunity to pursue his master’s degree in Ohio, USA.

It’s been a lot of years that the church had wept and asked God to hear their prayers to acquire a piece of land – a place to build a permanent church building, to gather and worship, and stand as a lighthouse in the area to show the goodness of God and spread the gospel.

In 2016 God answered the church’s prayers. And when it rains, it really pours! God did not just entrusted a 300 square meters of lot, He also used the Nehemiah Project of Independent Baptist Missions for Asians through the leadership of Dr. Emmanuel T. Quizon. This allowed the church to have the budget for the building to be constructed within the same year.

Through 11 years of being in God’s vineyard, His hands continue to guide and work in the ministry. The gospel continues to spread, and He continued to save lives and added people who are willing to worship, serve, follow, and know Him more.

God is not finished yet, as there are servants who are willing and dedicatedly following His will, the Gospel will continue to spread and His great and marvelous works will continue to manifest.
